Customers Warned to not use Third Party Payment Sites
Benton Utilities would like to advise customers to only use our website for payments to us. This link can be easily accessed by visiting www.bentonutilities.com and clicking on the “Pay Your Bill” link on the left side of the page.
Recently, customers have found a company with an app “doxo.com” that allows customers to make payments to many companies including Benton Utilities. Unfortunately, a link to their site comes up when consumers do a search for Benton Utilities online bill payment. If the customer is not careful to select our actual website, it could easily select the Doxo.com payment site. While Doxo seems to be a legitimate company, Benton Utilities has not solicited or partnered with this company to take payments for our customers. Benton Utilities customers must individually sign-up for doxo.com.
It is not recommended Benton Utilities customers use this third party payment site. Doxo charges fees per transactions, but worse yet, the payments are not immediately posted to the customer’s accounts. Payments can take two days or longer to process to our utility for us to manually key into the system and post to each account. This could pose issues for our customers that are submitting payments on a disconnect notice as they may run the risk of their payment not making it to our system before their service is cut off.
It is important to note that our goal is to provide our customers with the ability to pay their bills and post their payments in real time. Our website is available 24/7/365. To ensure you are using the Benton Utilities site look for the https://ebiz.bentonar.org in the URL. The ‘https’ preceding this shows that your payments are processing securely.
