The Benton City Council passed Ordinance No. 60 of 2017 Monday, November 13, 2017.  This ordinance amended City of Benton Ordinance No.

Effective 8/21/2017, all new construction residential and commercial builders will be required to pay for underground and overhead materials and labor, this will no longer be provided free of charge.  These costs will need to be paid up front before a ditch can be plumbed to provide permanent power to the structure.  You will need to call Utilities Dispatch at 501-776-5930 to make this request in order to be invoiced. All invoices have to be paid in full prior to work completion.  These jobs will take a minimum of 3 days to complete.

The Benton Utilities Wastewater Treatment Department is accepting applications for the above position. A job description outlining job responsibilities and qualifications is attached.

BENTON UTILITIES - BOIL ORDER ISSUED

This is to notify you that on Saturday, July 15, 2017 there was a leak discovered on a 12" water main.  The crew has worked approx. the last 12 hours to make the necessary repairs.  The water supply to several residences was interrupted for most of this time while the Benton Utilities Water Distribution Personnel made the necessary repairs, and this service interruption requires the water department to issue a precautionary boil order per Arkansas Dept. of Health Regulations, when your water service was restored.  The Health Dept.

Benton Utilities customers are allowed to drop their payments off with the receptionist at the Benton Municipal Complex (City Hall) during normal business hours. As long as the payment is dropped off by 2:00 p.m., it will be posted to your account the same day. If it is dropped off after 2:00 p.m., it will be credited to your account the following business day.

On Monday, January 16, 2017, a network connection for our on-line bill pay will be upgraded, and there will be delay of service during this time.  Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.  

Two areas of Benton are currently without water due to repairs. The first location will be in the area of Edgehill, Scenic Way, Brookview Penland, and Lynnwood acres, and they are replacing a clamp which is anticipated to take approx. 1.5 hours. The second location is in the area of N. Olive, Valley View, Forest Lane, Holly and Kenwood, and the crew is replacing a portion of pipe there which is expected to take approx. 3 hours. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

This is to notify you that on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 there was a leak discovered on a connection where a 6” water main and a 10” main.  The crew opted to work over night to make the necessary repairs.  However, when they started digging, they discovered that the pipes were all totally encased in concrete which made the necessary repairs take more time.  The water supply to your residence was interrupted for over three hours while the Benton Utilities Water Distribution Department made the necessary repairs, and this service interruption requires the water department to issue a precautio

The Benton Public Utilities Commission is currently accepting resumes from citizens interested in serving on the Share Board. This committee member will be appointed to fill a vacancy which will expire on December 31, 2016. The Share Board Committee, independently of Benton Utilities has responsibility to determine which applicants receive assistance through the Share Program. There is no salary with the position but expenses incurred in regard to the Share Board business could be reimbursed. Committee Members must reside in the City of Benton.
